I’m Kaleb Woods, and I’ve been playing guitar for a minute. 26 years to be exact. For the last few, I’ve been doing it professionally as a full time musician, which is a neat way of saying I get to call playing guitar “work." and somehow that’s legal. Along the way, I’ve written songs that ended up on national and international airwaves, played a bunch of venues, festivals, and even shared the stage with artists like Chris Janson, Rehab, Eddie Montgomery, and John King. … you get the idea. Basically, I know my way around a fretboard.
Now here’s the deal: I HATED guitar lessons as a kid. My instructor had this "one size fits no one" approach and made me learn songs I wouldn’t even play for ransom money. So naturally... I quit. But guess what? I still learned. On my terms. That’s exactly what I’m offering you - real, practical guitar lessons that actually make sense and don’t suck the soul out of your creativity.
I offer two lesson paths:
🎧 At Your Own Pace: This is the “learn-like-I-did” method. Weekly guided video lessons you can chew through in your jam jams at 2AM if that’s your vibe. Highly recommended for the independent rebels out there.
🎥 Hands-On: Weekly 50 minute live sessions with me where I personally walk you through each lesson. We’ll laugh, learn, and probably roast a few terrible chord shapes together.
This is a 12 month roadmap to guitar confidence, sprinkled with Zoom sessions, chill/not demanding vibes, and actual progress. Music theory and sight-reading? Eh. I know it, I’ll use it when needed, but I won’t shove it down your throat. We’re here to play music, not scare you off with classical trauma.
You’ll get a questionnaire at sign-up so I can tailor your journey to you - your taste, your goals, your favorite songs (yes, even that one you’re embarrassed to admit). Will there be a few not so cute songs along the way? Absolutely. But I promise they’ll serve a purpose, and we’ll kick them to the curb when the time’s right.
The best part? No long-term contracts. It’s month-to-month, zero pressure. I know guitar isn’t for everyone. Your fingers might cry a little at first - but if you stick with me, I promise you’ll become the guitarist you’ve always wanted to be. Or at least the coolest one at the next bonfire.
Venmo, PayPal, credit/debit cards, cash or check if your local, carrier pigeon. Venmo is the easiest and preferred, but if you’d rather use a card, just a heads up: there’s a small 3% fee to cover those lovely processing charges that credit companies so generously pass on to small businesses like mine. Transparency, baby!
A: I charge month-to-month, so if it’s not your vibe, you can cancel before the next month kicks in. No hard feelings. No shady fine print.
A: Totally fine! You can start with one and switch anytime. It’s your journey. I’m just your GPS.
A: Just give me a heads-up. We’ll do our best to reschedule, and if not, I’ll make sure you have what you need to stay on track.
A: All ages are welcome! Whether you're 7 or 70, if you've got a guitar and the drive to learn, I'm here for it. I’ve worked with kids, teens, adults, and even a few retirees who finally decided to chase the dream. As long as you (or your kiddo) can stay focused and have a good attitude, we’re gonna get along just fine.
A: Acoustic or electric - either one works! That said, most of my lessons are built with acoustic players in mind. If you're rocking an electric, no worries; the fundamentals still apply, and I’ll make sure you’re getting the most out of each lesson.
